ShoppingGives 2023 Social Impact Awards
We’re excited to announce the winners of our annual ShoppingGives Social Impact Awards! This celebration recognizes our partners’ social impact efforts and the positive impact they drive every day for charitable causes.
We are always overjoyed at the amount of impact that our merchant partners create year over year, and love being able to celebrate these accomplishments with our community. Our partners’ commitment to giving back is incredible to witness and we’re honored to be a part of it.
For this year’s awards, we had nine categories and nine incredible winners! Take a look at who’s taking home the trophies this year:
Social Impact of the Year Award - Kenneth Cole
The Social Impact of the Year award recognizes a brand that has made the most significant impact to the community by being the largest single donor within ShoppingGives’ Giving Economy. Kenneth Cole is awarded this recognition for going above and beyond to create meaningful impact for the causes that they and their customers care about, and for their commitment to social good.
Kenneth Cole, a clothing and shoe retailer, is committed to being inclusive and making the world a better place. From their founding, Kenneth Cole has served as a voice of advocacy and is always engaged in projects to improve the lives of others. They are consistently driving donations to The Mental Health Coalition on purchases made from their website, and have even launched a collection of products that support specific causes, called the Voice Wear collection. Through their Voice Wear collection, consumers can shop for products while supporting causes like mental health, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and gun safety.

Change Makers Award - KraveBeauty
The Change Makers award recognizes a brand with the most engaged social impact that is taking charge in highlighting their efforts among their employees, community, and customers. KraveBeauty is awarded this recognition because they think of impact in several ways, ranging from sustainable packaging to giving back. To advocate for a more sustainable industry, KraveBeauty shares educational content throughout their marketing efforts to help consumers understand the importance of sustainability within the beauty and skincare industry.
KraveBeauty is on a mission to change the skincare industry and curates timeless products that are formulated to work with your skin, not against it. Committed to reducing the skincare industry’s environmental impact, KraveBeauty advocates for conscious and intentional production of products and packaging. To support their mission, KraveBeauty gives back to Women’s Earth Alliance, an organization dedicated to supporting grassroots women leaders to mitigate climate change and protect their communities, livelihoods, and health, on every purchase.

Innovative Impact Award - Coach
The Innovative Impact award recognizes a brand that has integrated social impact throughout their customer journey in the most innovative way. Coach is awarded this recognition for leading the way when it comes to utilizing ShoppingGives’ donation technology. By empowering their Coach Insider customers to create donations on their purchases, Coach is able to create a custom social impact strategy that best supports their impact goals.
Coach, a global fashion house, crafts products with the belief that better-made things create a better-made future for all. Committed to creating a more equitable future for all, the Coach Foundation partners with local and global nonprofits to create life-changing opportunities for the next generation through their Dream It Real project. Through ShoppingGives, Coach empowers their Coach Insider members to support the Dream It Real cause portfolio when they make a purchase. This enables Coach to motivate consumers to become Coach Insider members with the opportunity to create a charitable impact when they shop with Coach.

Rising Star Award - Milk Makeup
The Rising Star award recognizes the brand that is an emerging leader in social impact and has experienced the most donation growth since last year. Milk Makeup is awarded this recognition for making significant strides in their social impact efforts, putting giving at the center of their business, and increasing the positive impact they are able to create for their supported nonprofits.
Milk Makeup, creator of 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free beauty products, is a brand that puts social impact as a top priority. Since their founding, Milk Makeup has prioritized diversity and inclusion and are committed to supporting and uplifting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. Through ShoppingGives, Milk Makeup was able to elevate their impact efforts by empowering their customers to add-on a donation to every purchase in support of the Fashion Scholarship Fund and the Lesbian and Gay Community Services Center Inc.

Diversity in Giving Award - Olaplex
The Diversity in Giving award recognizes a brand that supported the highest number of nonprofit organizations, driven by customer giving. Olaplex is awarded this recognition for taking social impact to the next level, empowering their customers to get involved with their efforts, and enabling them to support the causes they care about. As a result, Olaplex is able to create a positive impact for a larger number of unique nonprofits.
Olaplex, a creator of innovative hair care products, is committed to supporting the causes that their customers care about. Through their online store, Olaplex empowers their customers to search and select a cause of their choice when shopping through their online store. In 2022, Olaplex supported over 1,600 unique nonprofit organizations! By giving their customers the opportunity to support the causes that mean the most to them, Olaplex is able to create a more authentic and impactful shopping experience.

Adapting for Good Award - Steve Madden
The Adapting for Good award recognizes a brand that has adapted their giving strategy and engaged in direct response fundraising in the wake of current events and crises to make a positive impact where needed most. Steve Madden is awarded this recognition for going above and beyond to respond to the needs of their community by shifting their giving efforts as timely causes arise and using their power as a business to call attention to and take action for necessary change.
Steve Madden, one of the most iconic brands in footwear, is leading the way in responding to causes as they arise in real time to best support their community. In response to Hurricane Fiona impacting Puerto Rico in late 2022, Steve Madden shifted their giving efforts to support the Hispanic Federation and ConPRmetidos to raise funds for those who had been affected by the hurricane. Through this activation, Steve Madden empowered their customers to add-on a donation of either $1, $3, or $5 to their purchase to support these nonprofits, and Steve Madden committed to matching all donations made.

Best GivingTuesday Activation Award - MiiR
The Best GivingTuesday Activation award recognizes a brand that had an incredible giving strategy during the holiday season and leveraged a default cause to maximize their impact during the season of giving. MiiR is awarded this recognition for prioritizing impact during a time most known for sales and discounts, and continued to lead with their values to drive meaningful change for worthy causes.
MiiR, a creator of premium stainless steel vessels for coffee, beer, wine and food, was founded with impact at the center of everything they do. Every MiiR product that is sold helps to fund transparent giving projects. To support their commitment of doing good and giving back, MiiR donated 100% of sales during Black Friday weekend to support Bean Voyage, Conservation Lands Foundation, and National Young Farmers Coalition, with a goal of giving $100,000. In setting a default cause and increasing their donation amount, MiiR was able to create a massive impact for charitable causes this past holiday season.

Nonprofit of the Year Award - Thurgood Marshall College Fund
The Nonprofit of the Year award recognizes the nonprofit organization that was supported by the most ShoppingGives brand partners during the year. Thurgood Marshall College Fund is awarded this recognition for doing meaningful work each and every day that inspires our brand partners to raise awareness, fundraise for, and support their ongoing mission.
Thurgood Marshall College Fund, the nation’s largest organization exclusively representing the Black College Community, is making strides in serving as a voice for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Through their programs, Thurgood Marshall College Fund boasts an 80-90% graduation rate of its Scholars, compared to a 40% graduation rate for Black/AA students, 37% graduation rate for HBCU students, and a 62% graduation rate for all students irrespective of race/nationality or whether they attended an HBCU. Providing unparalleled access to a funnel of opportunities for students to journey to college, through college and into a career, Thurgood Marshall College Fund actively works to transform the lives of thousands of students every day.

Tech Partner of the Year Award - Yotpo
The Tech Partner of the Year award recognizes a technology partner that created the most impact in the community through a partnership with ShoppingGives. Yotpo is awarded this recognition for setting an example for using technology for good. Through a collaborative partnership, Yotpo is helping to create broader opportunities for meaningful impact through innovative solutions.
Together with Yotpo, we’ve been able to create a more engaging shopper experience that increases customer loyalty for our mutual merchant partners. Through this integration, brands can combine rewards with donations to create a more unique customer loyalty program that encourages purpose-driven purchases and boosts customer loyalty. This integration empowers brands to reward their customers with reward points when they create a donation with their purchase, and enables their customers to redeem their reward points for additional donations later on.
